Dogs by nature live in packs with a strict hierarchy. There is literally a top dog and everyone knows their place and their role creating a harmonious and formidable group. However, in a busy human household with people and other creatures the hierarchy may not always be clear and the dog’s role poorly defined. This can lead to anxiety, fear, lack of attention to commands, barking, aggression, and other stubborn behavior isues.
The Glombles remote online training experience begins from the moment we connect on the video call which you can enjoy from the comfort of your home. It is a coaching program for owners to be empowered to train their dog with confidence. My first priority is to understand your goals and what are the motivations for those goals. To learn about your pet and gauge the best learning style for their personality, environment, and breed.
From there for follow up sessions I will prepare a training program we will step through together session by session patiently, kindly, and in a rewarding way for your pet. Will use positive reinforcement, hand signals, and voice commands to reinforce the desirable behaviour and stop for play and review. I do not use clicker training.
I will also discuss with you underlying health, environment, relationship issues, and breed factors that may be triggering or perpetuating particular issues. Stubborn behaviour problems required a methodical, loving, and consistent approach from all in the household to support positive change.
A minimum of 5 sessions of coaching for basic obedience is recommended, one every week. Several more may be required depending upon age, breed, your pet’s history, and environment.
